World Marketing Group (WMG) is a private company, founded in Minneapolis, MN in 1980.

As a destination sales and marketing firm, WMG offers business-to-business services to the MICE industry for program planning. WMG's focus is on providing meeting, incentive, conference, and special event planners with destination expertise, efficient planning tools, single source planning assistance and direct connections to international DMC suppliers.

WMG's highly experienced team provides one-stop shopping for all business group needs, delivered by their portfolio DMC members.

Carla J. Schulz

Carla Schulz joined the World Marketing Group organization in 1984, four years after its founding. She immediately brought strategic customer servicing and administration skills to the organization that created the foundation on which the company operates today.

Over the ensuing years, Carla took on more expansive corporate responsibilities, including staff training, marketing communications, database design and construction, trade show management and finance. Along with this, she continued in her role as a key internal customer advisor as well as a valued resource for customers in the field by assisting them with their international program design.

With the growth of World Marketing Group, her focus today is in the area of overseeing finance, launching new internal clients and in leading the account management of the company's largest network of represented DMCs, as well as newer additions to the WMG portfolio.

Carla is married to Joseph Rusnacko, and has one daughter, Sophia Rae. In her spare time, she ensures that her menagerie of family pets – Dot, Sonny, Jewels and Gigi are well looked after.

Kelly began her career in the travel industry in 1988 at Carlson Travel Academy. Over the next 18 years, Kelly served in a variety of positions with Carlson's Franchise Group, working mainly in the areas of training & meeting/event management. Kelly joined World Marketing Group (WMG) in 2007 after working with WMG, while still on the client side, on a program for Dubai - it was kismet!

As Director of Business Development for WMG, account management, along with directing, planning and conducting sales missions are Kelly's main responsibilities. She also serves WMG's international portfolio of DMC partners by augmenting business development through the management of familiarization programs, trade shows, client functions and other industry events.

Kelly & her husband Gary live in a suburb of Minneapolis with their furry kids, Yobo & Tess.

Director of Accounts & Marketing Strategy

Sarah Calhoon discovered her passion for marketing and event management in 1996 as a Senior Trip Director for Carlson Marketing Group. As her management skills continued to evolve, she explored new opportunities within the hospitality industry, joining World Marketing Group in 2005 as Manager Client Services and Account Management.

Further developing skills in the technology space followed thereafter, she quickly earned a reputation for her marketing savvy. She was appointed to lead and develop new marketing teams and to manage complex marketing projects related to corporate re-branding, lead generation, event and trade show management, marketing system automation, web development, SEO, and social media.

Returning to WMG, these skills combined with her previous experience with the company are strategically aligned with our goal to position our portfolio DMCs in the forefront of the North American market.

Sarah lives in Minneapolis and enjoys spending time with her son Dylan, attending concerts, traveling, and working with the Boys and Girls Clubs in the Twin Cities.
